Thoughts on Live Ceremony Music (Part I)

I think there is nothing better than live music at a wedding ceremony. Speaking as a musician, there is something about the way the sound encounters the crowd that puts everyone in the right frame of mind.  Music at the ceremony is yet another important decision that must be made in order to set the ambiance for your wedding.  First you need to ask yourself what kind of music you envision hearing at the ceremony?  Traditional? Or maybe something more contemporary? Secondly, you need to ask yourself what type of instrument(s) or singer(s) you want to perform? Traditional or classical wedding music is the easiest to find for any and all instrumentation (piano, organ, string ensembles, brass ensembles, soloists, etc.) Most likely, the performers will already have this music in their repertoire for gigs.  However, if you envisioned something more contemporary or popular, like something by The Beatles, Michael Buble, or maybe you and your partner’s “song”, it gets a bit trickier.  Check back for more blogs on choosing live music for your wedding coming soon!!!
